Tips

  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothing. If you are walking the entire distance, you may want to bring a backpack with another change of socks and shoes.
  • Wear light "breathable" clothing. This will also help prevent blistering and chafing.
  • Be sure to check the weather...if it is scheduled to be cool, wear layers in case it warms up.
  • Be sure to eat a full meal before the walk. You will be using a lot of energy and will need something substantial (balanced) to carry you through the day. You will also want to bring a few snacks.
  • Bring sunglasses and/or a hat. And be sure to wear sunscreen!
  • You may want to bring some bandaids just in case!
  • You also may want to bring a rag that you can use to cool yourself off with at the stops.
  • Fanny packs are great for carrying small amounts of food, gum, etc.
  • Hydration is key also. Beverages will be provided at stops...but you still may want to carry some with you.
  • Get plenty of rest the night before. And eat a well-balanced meal. Here is your chance to load up on CARBS!!
  • Don't forget to bring your flag...any size will do!
