The most memorable walk of the year!
Tips for the Participants
Wear comfortable shoes and clothing. If you are walking the entire distance, you may want to bring a backpack with another change of socks and shoes.
Wear light "breathable" clothing. This will also help prevent blistering and chafing.
Be sure to check the weather...if it is scheduled to be cool, wear layers in case it warms up.
Be sure to eat a full meal before the walk. You will be using a lot of energy and will need something substantial (balanced) to carry you through the day. You will also want to bring a few snacks.
Bring sunglasses and/or a hat. And be sure to wear sunscreen!
You may want to bring some bandaids just in case!
You also may want to bring a rag that you can use to cool yourself off with at the stops.
Fanny packs are great for carrying small amounts of food, gum, etc.
Hydration is key also. Beverages will be provided at stops...but you still may want to carry some with you.
Get plenty of rest the night before. And eat a well-balanced meal. Here is your chance to load up on CARBS!!
Don't forget to bring your flag...any size will do!
